Cuban journalist Julita Osendi has provided a recent update on the health condition of actress Diana Rosa Suárez, who suffered a heart attack while in Guyana. According to Julita's Facebook post, Diana Rosa is also battling pneumonia and has finally been admitted to a healthcare facility, having previously been on complete bed rest at a friend's home on the second floor.

Collaboration Between Cuban and Guyanese Medical Teams

"She is receiving treatment from both Cuban and Guyanese doctors, with the Cuban embassy taking charge," Julita stated. The journalist further explained that when Diana Rosa was treated at the Cardiovascular Hospital in Havana, doctors advised her to be admitted, but she refused due to her scheduled flight to Guyana. "The cardiologists at the Cuban Institute acted with their usual professionalism," she added.

It is anticipated that by Wednesday, doctors might conduct a coronary angiography on Diana Rosa to determine the most appropriate treatment path. Last Saturday, while still in Havana, the actress experienced severe chest pain and was taken to the Cardiology Institute, where she underwent two electrocardiograms.

Health Challenges and International Travel

After flying to Guyana, local physicians diagnosed her with another heart attack that had likely occurred about three months prior and recommended a month of complete rest. Diana Rosa's visit to Guyana was intended for an appointment at the United States embassy to process a visa, enabling her to reunite with her granddaughters and nieces. Her interview was scheduled for this Wednesday.

Before her hospitalization, a source close to the actress informed our outlet that doctors advised against moving her, even to transfer her to an intensive care unit, due to the risk associated with moving her down two floors. However, it appears this assessment has since changed.

Cuban Ministry's Involvement

Previously, Julita Osendi mentioned that Cuba's Ministry of Culture was aware of the situation and promised to coordinate with the Ministry of Public Health to ensure Diana Rosa received attention from Cuban doctors on mission in Guyana.

On August 30, Diana Rosa Suárez celebrated her 80th birthday with a grand party, surrounded by fellow colleagues and friends, including Tahimí Alvariño, Paula Alí, Verónica Lynn, Néstor Jiménez, Mario Aguirre, Héctor Noas, Miriam Socarrás, and Gretel Cazón, along with presenter Marino Luzardo and singers Beatriz Márquez and Héctor Tellez. Born in the Luyanó neighborhood of Havana, Diana Rosa is the grandmother of two granddaughters living in the United States.
