A mannequin displayed in a shop on Obispo Street in Havana has become a subject of ridicule across social media platforms. The Facebook page of Tiendas Caribe Habana Vieja posted an image of this unusual mannequin, notable for its egg-shaped head and a white cap, accompanied by a message targeting women, suggesting "options to look more beautiful."

In reality, the post aims to promote a range of hair dyes in various colors, complete with a full kit including peroxide in 10, 20, and 30 volumes, as well as bleaching powder available in both jar and sachet formats. Alongside the bizarre mannequin, the page shared an equally ironic promotion: "From Obispo to look more beautiful."

Influencer Edmundo Dantés Junior added to the humor by sharing the image on Facebook with a sarcastic comment: “In the depths of the sea, far from the sun, lived a little fish, without any color,” referencing a popular children's cartoon about a fish seeking colors for its tail. He further remarked, “Suffer mannequins of Camagüey,” drawing attention to the controversial mannequins displayed in a store in that province back in July, which also triggered a wave of social media mockery.

Creative Advertising or Unintentional Comedy?

There have been numerous occasions where the "creativity" in advertisements has led to a flurry of comments and memes online. In 2023, some initiatives by the regime to celebrate the birthday of dictator Fidel Castro through workplace events became fodder for jokes. One such effort occurred at the "El Billarista" commercial unit, part of the Caribe store chain in Villa Clara, sparking further amusement among the public.
