An accident on Thursday in Holguín's ring road, specifically at the intersection with San Germán Road, resulted in injuries to the occupants of a patrol car. A post on the Facebook group, "ACCIDENTS BUSES & TRUCKS for More Experience and Fewer Victims!", reported that the mishap occurred following a collision between the patrol vehicle and a truck.

The injured officers were swiftly transported to the Holguín Clinical Hospital, where they are currently receiving medical care. In a comment section, an anonymous contributor clarified that "the truck veered into the opposite lane." It was further detailed that the vehicle "attempted a left turn" towards the KTP combine factory, while the patrol car was traveling from the cloverleaf interchange towards the patrol unit.

Jorge Montero Góngora commented that it seems "the truck driver used the deceleration lane there intending to make a left turn, but something went awry." He also highlighted that it might have been "a technical malfunction of the vehicle or a misjudgment of the distance and speed of the oncoming car."

Another observer, Vega Batista Guirabito, mentioned passing by shortly after the accident and noted that "the truck was heading west down the road and attempted a left turn onto San Germán Road." He added, "For those familiar with that intersection, vehicles are in the direction of traffic flow, meaning the truck hadn't completed crossing into the opposite lane."

Recently, a motorcycle from the National Revolutionary Police's Transit Directorate (PNR) was involved in an accident after colliding with a car on the Puente del Río Almendares in Havana. A video shared by the "Traffic Accidents in Cuba" Facebook page depicted both vehicles at the accident scene, with unknown causes and conditions of the occupants.

Additionally, on Wednesday, a car driver lost control of the vehicle, veering off the road and into a dam spillway in Havana, resulting in two fatalities. Earlier, a tragic traffic accident took place on the busy José Martí Avenue, in front of the 18-story building in Santiago de Cuba. Aris Arias Batalla, Provincial Head of Operations and Relief for the Cuban Red Cross, shared on Facebook that a motorcyclist collided with the right rear side of a Lada vehicle, owned by the Electric Power Plant Maintenance Company (EMCE), with license plate B 029752.
