The beloved comedy show Vivir del Cuento may soon fall prey to censorship on Cuban television. Speculation arose after Luis Silva, who plays the iconic character Pánfilo, shared a concerning message on Instagram regarding the absence of new episodes. This was further corroborated by one of the show's producers, who confirmed unsettling details.

During a phone conversation with CubaNet, a producer associated with the show revealed that the new episodes have been held back due to censorship. "Significant censorship has impacted the production of the latest episodes, causing frustration among the team," the producer disclosed. Requesting anonymity, the source added, "This issue is compounded by additional barriers to continuing the show's filming. It seems like they're trying to make us give up."

Mounting Frustration Among the Cast and Crew

Historically, Vivir del Cuento has managed to navigate past bureaucratic hurdles, ensuring episodes reached audiences. However, this time, the censorship appears to be more severe. Last Thursday, Silva responded to a fan’s concern over the missing episodes with a foreboding "don't expect good news," intensifying the public's worry.

Fellow cast member Marlon Pijuán, known for his role as Isidoro, echoed Silva's sentiments with a somber "unfortunately," adding to the growing unease among fans.

Silence Speaks Volumes

As of now, no official statements have been made by the Vivir del Cuento team regarding the show's status. However, given the show's history of humorously critiquing Cuban realities, it wouldn’t be surprising if censorship was indeed at play.

The last new episode aired on September 16, coinciding with the program's 16th anniversary. This pause in new content has only fueled concerns about potential censorship, leaving fans and creators alike in a state of uncertainty.
