Outrage Erupts on Social Media Over Alexander Otaola's Remarks About El Taiger

Saturday, October 5, 2024 by Abigail Marquez

Alexander Otaola's recent remarks about El Taiger, who is in a critical condition after being shot in the head last Thursday, have sparked a wave of outrage across social media platforms. The Cuban-American host commented on the reggaeton artist's health status and the support he's been receiving during one of his shows: “Now everyone is a friend, now everyone wants the best for El Taiger, now everyone says forgive and forget, now everyone starts a prayer chain. If El Taiger survives, which I hope he does, truly, so that all those sending him good vibes can receive that blessing, they need to understand he will have special needs.”

In a tone perceived by many as derogatory and lacking compassion, Otaola further stated, “You all will have to help change the diaper, feed him, clean him, perfume him, take him out for a walk, so I hope all of you are ready, in case El Taiger can overcome this, to take turns hosting El Taiger a month at each of your homes.”

Backlash Against Otaola's Insensitive Comments

A clip of this segment was shared by Martí To Durako on Instagram, leading to a flood of criticism aimed at Otaola. “Hypocrite,” wrote Aly Sánchez; “Come on Oti, not like this brother,” commented reggaeton artist Harryson; “So much hate, my God, this man disgusts me,” added Ani Dieppa, partner of El Yonki.

Critics didn't hold back in expressing their disapproval: “You have no limits, sir, and even less humanity... it's unfortunate that you can't distinguish between reality and the absurd. You definitely can't be counted among the good ones”; “I am amazed at this man's lack of empathy and love”; “My God, this man has no heart”; “I can't handle this man's venom, the level of insensitivity and hatred is incredible”; “Can't we all chip in to somehow make this person disappear, take away his internet, or put him in a box, please?” they questioned.

Social Media Users Demand Accountability

Some users went as far as to say, “If it has to be done, it will be done, but people like you shouldn't exist, and may God forgive me”; “The devil has appeared, it took him long enough, his end will be ten times worse than El Taiger's, he's such a despicable being, so vile, he even harms his own people. This man's life is a disgrace”; “The lady is hurt because more people are supporting and praying for El Taiger’s recovery than those who voted for him in his campaign,” others added.

Currently, El Taiger remains in critical condition and is on life support at the Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
