Flor de Cuba Returns Home, Defends Herself Against Criticism After Miami Visit: "Now I'm a USA Historian"

Sunday, October 6, 2024 by Daniel Colon

After her first trip to the United States, having received a five-year tourist visa, Flor de Cuba has returned to the island. This newfound freedom allows her to travel to and from Cuba as she pleases. The content creator eagerly shared her experiences in sunny Miami with her followers on social media. Before heading back to Cuba, she took a moment to reflect on the insights she gained during her brief stay in the U.S.

"Every country offers a unique world, and each culture teaches us something different. Visiting the United States is a turning point in my life, thanks to the lessons I've learned. I choose to approach life with optimism and prepare for challenges. Here, I learned about organization and respect for laws. I understood justice and the importance of respecting others' rights. I also learned a lot about the immigration processes needed to be legal in the country. My goal was to come as a tourist," she shared along with a video showing her departure from the United States.

Facing Criticism Online

Despite her positive reflections, Flor de Cuba faced criticism. Some social media comments read: "How can you claim to learn so much from a country and draw conclusions in less than two weeks? Hahaha. America is more complex than that; you spend your entire life here and still don't know everything," "When did you learn so much in under 15 days?" "You've been here for 2 days and already know so much, you're already American!" and "In a week, this girl learned more than I have in years. Don't pretend to be a tourist when you don't know what it's like to pay bills, have credit, own property, or pay taxes. You know nothing, not even how to drive or understand the laws here, LOL!"

Reacting with irony to these negative remarks, Flor de Cuba quipped, "Now I'm a USA historian."

Returning to Her Roots

In another video, the influencer documented her return to Cuba. Alongside footage of her homecoming, she expressed, "The little flower has returned to Cuba. There's nothing like coming back to your homeland to see your loved ones. The joy of reuniting and providing your family with what they need is priceless. While material things can be satisfying, nothing compares to the warmth of hugging those you love. My children know that their mom will never let them go without, just like all Cuban mothers, who are warriors ensuring a better future for their children."
