Cuban singer and songwriter Lenier Mesa has released a touching tribute to his fellow artist El Taiger, who is currently hospitalized in Miami after being shot in the head. In light of his grave condition, the "Cómo te pago" singer created an emotional song titled "La Tranka de mi País." The song debuted on his YouTube channel, accompanied by a heartfelt note shared on his social media platforms: "Brother, this is not just a song; this is for you to listen to when you wake up, from your guajiro, as you used to call me @el_taiger. We miss you, José Manuel Carbajal."

This beautiful tribute has deeply moved the fans of both Lenier and El Taiger, who have responded with comments like, "What a beautiful gesture, Lenier. When he leaves the hospital, he'll see all of this," "Such a lovely song! God willing, José will hear this and see all that is being done for him. Well done, Lenier," "Words can't describe the emotion of hearing Lenier sing this beautiful song, dedicated with all his heart to El Taiger," and "What a noble spirit you have, Maestro Lenier. The lyrics are beautiful. A stunning song."

Lyrics of "La Tranka de mi País"

The song opens with the imagery of candles being lit and questions being asked about who is to blame. Lenier calls for his brother to wake up, emphasizing that his people and the music of Cuba need him. He expresses his faith in divine intervention, asserting, "I know God will work a miracle because the Lord can do everything." He pleads for El Taiger to stay and not leave them, highlighting the need to hear his voice again.

The lyrics continue with a reminder of those waiting for El Taiger, including his grandmother and children, far from the hospital. Lenier urges him to heal, rise again, and assures him that no one will harm him. Drawing on biblical references, he states, "If Jesus resurrected, the one the Bible names, rise up because the shadows will never dim your light." He concludes by affirming, "A warrior like you doesn't die this way. You have an entire life to make the world happy. Rise from the roots, heal your wounds, for you will always be the strength of our country."
