A tragic incident unfolded on the highway at the entrance to Santiago de Cuba, where a pickup truck collided with a horse-drawn cart, leading to the immediate death of the cart's driver. Journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada initially reported the accident on his Facebook account, appealing for eyewitnesses to provide more details about the event.
At first, specifics of the accident were not confirmed. However, Mayeta Labrada later shared more information: "This morning, a tragic accident occurred, resulting in the instant death of a man and father named Alejandro Candeaux, who lived on Calle 2, Santa María in the Reparto Boniato district."
He added that the man was left on the Santiaguera Highway after being hit by a white pickup truck. The horse-drawn cart went out of control and was subsequently struck by another vehicle passing by. The unfortunate incident took place near the Vocational School of Art (EVA), and many bystanders assisted in attempting to transport the victim to a hospital, but it was too late.
