Grandmother and Daughter of El Taiger Attend Church Service in His Honor in Havana

El Taiger's grandmother, who, at over 90 years old, has repeatedly expressed her love for him as if he were her own son, visited the Church of San Lázaro in Havana this Tuesday. She went there to pray for his recovery while the singer continues his fight for life at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.

The Instagram account "La Familia Cubana" shared a touching video capturing El Taiger's grandmother, his daughter, and other close family members engaged in prayer. They are united in their hopes for his recovery after he was tragically shot in the head last Thursday.

Before entering the church, a passionate fan of El Taiger's work presented his grandmother with a picture of the singer and a rosary. The fan, filled with emotion, said, "The photo doesn't speak, but this does," while touching her chest, signifying the faith, love, and prayers given for the reggaeton artist's recovery.

"And don't lose your faith, because none of us will," added the fan, one of the many who have joined in prayer for the singer's healing. The grandmother, who has shared a deep bond with her grandson since the passing of her daughter, El Taiger's mother, entered the church to the sound of a choir singing "Levántate la tranca" in tribute to El Taiger, with his music playing softly in the background.

Inside the church, heartfelt prayers and pleas echoed, all hoping for El Taiger’s swift recovery and the chance for him to reunite with his grandmother and daughter soon.

Family Struggles with Visa Issues

Another family member, El Taiger's cousin and fellow singer Jorge Junior, explained on Tuesday that he has been unable to travel to the United States to see El Taiger due to pending humanitarian visa applications for both him and his mother.

"I apologize to everyone for not being around, for not showing my face. Today hasn't been a good day for my health. My blood pressure reached 200, and I felt like my head was going to explode. I'm still feeling unwell, though slightly better. Thank you for your messages and support. I love you all dearly," he wrote on his Instagram stories.

"From this side, I've done everything possible from the very start to be with my cousin. I canceled everything and completed all the necessary paperwork. As of tonight, neither my mother nor I have received any response. It's reportedly the first time in history that a humanitarian visa is being processed directly from here, and it apparently doesn't depend on this side," he added.

In a subsequent live broadcast on social media, Jorge Junior reiterated his health struggles but took the opportunity to clarify several points, including the status of the humanitarian visa application for El Taiger's eldest daughter, as reported by Telemundo 51 this past weekend.
