The Heartbreak of La China Lay: Mourning the Loss of Her Former Partner, El Taiger

Friday, October 11, 2024 by Isabella Rojas

José Manuel Carbajal, widely known as El Taiger, tragically passed away on Thursday, October 10, at the age of 37, a week after suffering a gunshot wound to the head. His untimely death has deeply affected his fans, colleagues, family, and those close to him, including his former partner, La China Lay, who has shared heartfelt messages following the Cuban singer's passing.

Through her Instagram stories, Layma (her real name) posted a series of memories with the reggaeton artist, coupled with texts that reveal her profound sorrow and grief. In one of her messages, she poignantly stated, "No one, absolutely no one, will ever love me the way you did. With all your flaws, I know clearly that I was, am, and will always be the love of your life."

Reflecting on their time together, she wrote about the countless memories she holds dear, saying, "I have so many videos, so many photos, and I choose to remember you as you were before—healthy, thoughtful, family-oriented, educated, with a sweet and big heart. May God keep you in his glory. Justice for José."

Devastated by her loss, La China Lay also shared, "May God give me strength, and from the bottom of my heart, I hope no one ever has to go through this. Love your families, respect your partners, be happy, and let go of grudges. We never know when the end will come. José was, is, and will always be my family. We fought, said horrible things to each other, did terrible things, but as a family, we always made up. So many years together, crying, laughing, loving, fighting, yet always together. I'm sorry if these posts affect anyone, but this is my pain, my years, and no one can stop this pain. No one. RIP, my tank."

In another poignant message, she regretted that José Manuel Carbajal had not followed her advice: "Years, years, and you never listened to me. I wore myself out, I tried, God knows I gave my all, but you kept ignoring advice. Fly high, my black man. Here is your short-tempered little one, the second Magda of your life, who will never, ever forget you," referring to the singer's mother, who passed away in 2020, leaving a significant void in El Taiger's life.

These touching posts highlight La China's grief over losing someone who profoundly impacted her life and whom she will always remember with deep affection and love.
