"I Will Miss You Until My Last Day": Jany Mesa's Heartfelt Farewell to Ex-Boyfriend El Taiger

Saturday, October 12, 2024 by Isabella Rojas

Jany Mesa, the former girlfriend of the Cuban reggaeton artist El Taiger, poured her heart out in a poignant message on Instagram following his tragic death on October 10. The model shared a touching video filled with photos and cherished memories of their time together, both as a couple and with the artist's daughters and grandmother, all set to the song "Yo te extrañaré" by Tercer Cielo.

In her post, Jany expressed the immense sorrow she feels over his passing, struggling to come to terms with his absence. "I never imagined I'd have to write these words to say goodbye to you. Your absence is crushing, and I can't comprehend that you're gone, that there will be no more antics to ignore or calls with good news to receive," she began in the heartfelt message shared just hours ago.

The Pain of Loss

Jany drew parallels between this loss and the grief she experienced after her mother's passing, sharing, "I feel the wound of my mother's mourning reopening with you, as if I can't endure another loss." Her message reflected on the supportive relationship they shared, marked by mutual understanding and strength.

"I was tough on you, I know. I couldn't offer you empty comfort or hollow words. I guided you as family and a sister before I did as a woman in a romance, opening up the world to the answers you needed... I owed it to you for your sacrifices, for my feelings," she continued, emphasizing the depth of their bond beyond mere romance.

Recognizing Internal Struggles

Jany acknowledged El Taiger's inner battles, stating, "I knew there was something worth rescuing behind all your storms. Even if you didn't want to hear it, we trudged through that new path you asked for and deserved, even if discipline didn't last long." She added, "I didn't make it easy for you, couldn't do it; real ones don't have that option. All I could offer was the truth, even if it hurt, because that's discipline, José, that's love."

Throughout the post, Jany highlighted their profound connection, saying they understood each other in a unique way: "I understood you, José, like the twin I never had. I saw the countless characters within you, your hyperactivity, and the weight of your pain. I recognized your need to challenge the world, even when it wore you down... Because one day you told me, you and I share those shadows."

A Bond Beyond Words

She concluded her message with words that captured the enormous void left by El Taiger's sudden departure: "I hold onto the adult/child improvising through life as I must now... And if you're reading this from somewhere, know without a doubt... I will miss you until my last day."

Just days before, while El Taiger was hospitalized in critical condition after being shot in the head, Jany had already expressed her support. "You've always been a child in a giant's body, and as Jany, I hold onto no other version but your best," she said at that time, making it clear that despite ending their relationship over a year ago, she remained by his side during his toughest moments.

El Taiger passed away on October 10 at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. His passing has left a significant void in the Cuban music scene, affecting colleagues, friends, loved ones, and fans worldwide.

On social media, there is an outpouring of grief, condolences, tributes, and also demands for justice to resolve the case and find the person responsible for the attack that claimed the artist's life at the age of 37.
