Yeny Valdés, once the lead singer of Los Van Van and now a member of Teambahia Music, shared a somber message following the passing of reggaeton artist El Taiger. He died last Thursday after being hospitalized from a gunshot wound to the head on October 3. Valdés reflected on their recent discussions about collaborating on a project that sadly never came to fruition.

"Reading this message from El Taiger today brings me sadness... We never managed to finalize anything... It's very difficult," the singer expressed with clear sorrow.

The Shockwaves of El Taiger's Death

The tragic news of El Taiger's death has sent shockwaves through the artistic community and among his fans, both in Cuba and abroad. Jorge Junior, El Taiger's cousin and the leader of the band Los 4, traveled to Miami this Friday to take on the role of family spokesperson. El Taiger will be cremated, and his ashes will later be taken to Havana, so he can rest beside his mother.

The grief over this loss echoes throughout Cuban music, not only for the artist who has passed but also for the creative opportunities lost, such as the collaboration with Valdés, forever halted by the death of José Manuel Carbajal.
