This Sunday, the Cuban paramedic community is mourning the tragic loss of Yosmedy García Cobas, a young member of the Medical Emergency System (SIUM) in Havana, affectionately known as "El Moro." Aris Arias Batalla, who oversees Operations and Relief in Santiago de Cuba, shared his heartfelt condolences on Facebook: "We deeply grieve the passing of our esteemed colleague, Yosmedy García, lovingly called 'El Moro.' You were taken from us too soon by a devastating illness."

Arias added, "Rest in peace, colleague and friend. May you watch over your beloved coworkers from above, as they hold you dear to their hearts. All of us at SIUM Nacional will carry your memory with us."

On Facebook, Niurka Pedroso also expressed sorrow over the loss of the young paramedic: "I want to extend my gratitude to the entire staff at the Institute of Hematology who tirelessly fought to save our companion, brother, and friend, Yosmedy García Cobas."

This Saturday, the community also mourned the passing of Enrique Eulalio Díaz Gómez, a prominent coach in the field of athletic throwing events, who died at the age of 70 in Havana due to a pulmonary embolism. The announcement was made on the Facebook page Leo Burun Cuba, mentioning that "his remains will be cremated, and a tribute will be held at his home when his ashes are returned," as Díaz Gómez hailed from the province of Villa Clara.

Last Thursday, a wave of grief swept over Cuba as thousands lamented the death of El Taiger, a leading figure in the country's urban music scene. Many artists bid farewell to the singer through poignant messages shared across social media platforms.
