Over the weekend, Cuban singer Maxwell surprised his audience at a concert in Melena del Sur by paying a heartfelt tribute to his late colleague El Taiger, who passed away last week in Miami. In the midst of his performance, Maxwell played El Taiger's song "El Sano," prompting the crowd to sing along to the lyrics, which have gained poignant significance after El Taiger was fatally shot in the head.

The atmosphere was charged with energy and emotion as attendees joined in on the song, honoring one of Cuba's most influential urban music artists. "Tribute to @el_taiger in Melena del Sur. Thanks for so much love, the venue was full. Rest in peace, Mi Tranka. Your music will live on forever," Maxwell wrote on social media, sharing the moment from his show. The rendition of "El Sano" stood out as one of the concert's most unforgettable highlights.

Fans lauded Maxwell for this touching gesture during a particularly sorrowful time for Cuban music, following the death of José Manuel Carbajal, who died at the age of 37 last Thursday. Messages alongside the video included sentiments such as, "Thank you, Maxwell, in every one of your concerts, a song by El Taiger will immortalize his work. Keep pushing forward; he paved many paths for the genre! Now it's up to you to pave the way to immortality," and "A wonderful night in Melena del Sur, a tribute to my country's Tranka, I had a great time, and it's all thanks to you, Maxwell."

Others expressed, "Ufff, brother, you can feel the vibe @mawell_official1. Thanks for elevating the sentiment of a nation," and "Maxwell was visibly moved from the start. That kid didn't move from the source or the cathedral. This has made you great @mawell_official1."
