Final Decision Made for El Taiger's Burial Amid Previous Disputes

Tuesday, October 15, 2024 by Emma Garcia

The alleged conflict involving relatives and close friends of José Manuel Carbajal Zaldívar, better known as El Taiger, regarding the final resting place of the reggaeton artist has reportedly been settled. The information was shared by Univision journalist Mario Vallejo, who had earlier disclosed the supposed disagreements among the involved parties.

"After disputes and discussions between a friend of El Taiger, who managed to obtain a power of attorney signed by the musician’s grandmother—who shows signs of Alzheimer’s—and the musician’s family already in Miami, an agreement has finally been reached," Vallejo stated.

The journalist cited statements from El Taiger's cousin, Jorge Junior, who on Monday defended Teresa—allegedly the friend wielding the contentious power of attorney—without directly mentioning any disputes. "In light of what’s happening, we always blame someone, but everyone involved with my cousin’s affairs has acted out of good intentions. Teresa, with her virtues and flaws, has more virtues than flaws and is doing things right, okay? Please stop attacking her," expressed Jorge Junior.

The Funeral Plans and Resolution

"I just want to say we are united in this, not divided. She came to add, not to subtract," he added without further details. However, in his latest report for Univision, Vallejo reiterated that “funeral representatives who were supposed to transfer El Taiger’s body to Cuba left the medical examiner’s office due to the disagreements.” He confirmed the resolution of the conflict but did not retract his initial claims.

Meanwhile, Teresa took to Instagram on Tuesday to lash out at the journalist, accusing him of damaging her public image. In a subsequent post, Teresa expressed that she has no intention of harming anyone and just wants “the lies to stop and the truth to be told.”

"Let's hope this is resolved in the best possible way. We should focus on what truly matters now, which is giving José the farewell he deserves and seeking justice," she added. In the midst of the controversy, the key update is that the funeral will be held on the weekend of October 18th and 19th at Saint Lazarus Church in Hialeah.

Ongoing Investigation and New Leads

El Taiger was discovered on October 3rd, gravely injured in the back of a Mercedes Benz SUV, abandoned near the emergency room at Jackson Memorial Hospital. An anonymous tip alerted authorities, who quickly ruled out suicide.

On October 10th, it was officially announced that the artist had passed away after spending a week in critical condition. The Miami Police Department has described the case as a "puzzle" and has called on the community to provide any information that could assist in solving it.

According to police spokesperson Freddie Cruz, the SUV where El Taiger was found has been identified, and they are aware of its owner, although this information has yet to be made public. One name that has surfaced in the investigation is Damián Valdez-Galloso, known as "El Narra," who has been identified as a person of interest in the case.

Authorities have clarified that Valdez-Galloso is not a direct suspect in the murder but may possess crucial information to unravel the events, as he was the last person with El Taiger the night before the incident and rented the hotel room where the reggaeton artist stayed before being shot.
