Tuesday, October 15, 2024 by Daniel Vasquez

The management team of renowned Cuban reggaeton artist José Manuel Carbajal, known as El Taiger, announced on Tuesday that fans will have the opportunity to bid farewell to the musician this coming Saturday at St. Lazarus Catholic Church in Hialeah. The announcement, shared on the late artist's Instagram—he was tragically shot in the head last Thursday—states that the memorial service will be open to the public, beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 19.

"This will be a gathering for everyone to come together and celebrate the life, legacy, and contributions of José Manuel Carbajal," the statement emphasized. It also specified that there will be a strict dress code, and no loud music or candles will be allowed. Attendees are requested to maintain complete silence throughout the ceremony. The message concluded with a call to keep El Taiger's legacy alive, highlighting his significant impact on the Cuban community as a prominent reggaeton figure.

The church is located at 4400 W 18th Ave, Hialeah, FL 33012. Prior to this announcement, singer Jorge Junior, leader of the group Los 4 and cousin of El Taiger, had shared initial details about the reggaeton artist's funeral in Miami on social media. According to his statements, the family is still finalizing the remaining legal matters.

The announcement comes just days after Jorge Junior arrived in Miami to collect El Taiger's ashes following the beloved Cuban reggaeton star's untimely passing. In a separate official statement from El Taiger's team, gratitude was expressed to the artist's fans and friends for their support during this challenging time. They also confirmed that efforts are being made in collaboration with local authorities and religious leaders in Miami to provide a venue for fans to pay their respects.

The artist will be cremated, and Jorge Junior will transport his ashes to Havana so that El Taiger can rest in peace alongside his mother.
