Cuban actress Aly Sánchez is bursting with excitement, and it’s easy to see why. Her short documentary, From Banao to the World, which is part of the show celebrating her 20-year artistic career, has earned nominations at the 48th Annual Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards 2024. The film is up for awards in the categories of Nostalgia - Short Form Content, Writing – Short Form Content, and Directing – Short Form Content. "Your origins don't define your destination; your work and dedication do," Aly shared on Instagram on Tuesday, accompanied by photos and videos from her January visit to her hometown of Banao with Yoyi, Preña Palma, and El Mocho.

Developed in collaboration with Yulma García and Kristy Espinoza and produced by Billionaires Group in Miami-Ft. Lauderdale, FL, the documentary is a heartfelt project dedicated to the audience by Aly and her team. While this nomination has set her fans abuzz, it's not Aly's first Emmy recognition. In 2022, she was nominated alongside her Univision show El News Café at the 46th Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards in the Lifestyle - Short or Long Form Content category, sharing the spotlight with co-host Alberto Sardiñas and five other team members.

The recent announcement has sparked a flood of congratulations and reactions on social media. Comments reflect the excitement: "What a beautiful project! Can't wait to see it," "Congratulations, your many years of effort are being richly rewarded," "Emmys for Banao and its people, what amazing news!" and "You're achieving so much, with more to come. So many wonderful things await you." Followers also admire her for staying true to her roots despite her influencer status: "It's beautiful to see how people, even when they're influencers and recognized on social media, never lose their essence, humility, or forget their past and roots."

Many are eager to watch the documentary and are asking about its availability: "Where can we watch the documentary?" is a common query among her followers. The celebration extends beyond her personal circle, with fellow public figures and colleagues like Laritza Bacallao and Osmany García sharing their admiration and support. Comments from friends and fans include "You deserve it, lovely country girl," "You're a true inspiration, blessings," and "You are someone who deserves great admiration for everything you convey."
