Pasquale Stefano Mella, a 94-year-old Sicilian, has touched viewers of the Italian television show Chi l'ha Visto? with his emotional appeal to find his Cuban wife, known as Niurka. This tale, interwoven with themes of love, deception, and an expensive journey, has captivated Italian media that focus on matters of the heart.

The Meeting and Marriage

Stefano encountered Niurka, a 54-year-old Cuban, during a trip to Africa. It was Stefano's son, who resides in Berlin, who introduced him to the woman, as she was a cousin of his partner. Merely three days after their introduction, Stefano and Niurka decided to marry. Despite initial hopes, Stefano soon realized that Niurka did not reciprocate his affection.

Two months into their marriage, Niurka requested Stefano to sponsor a trip to Berlin to visit her cousin. Despite harboring reservations, Stefano agreed and covered all expenses. Upon returning to Italy, Niurka stayed only a short while before announcing her departure to Cuba. "I spent 15,000 euros on her trip," Stefano lamented.

An Unyielding Hope

Despite the challenges and growing coldness he perceived, Stefano maintained a deep fondness for Niurka, hoping for her return. However, Niurka never came back to Italy. Concerned about her absence, Stefano attempted to file a report with the Carabinieri, but they determined it was not a case of forced disappearance since she left Italy voluntarily.

Faced with this situation, Stefano turned to the television show Chi l'ha Visto?, renowned for its efforts in locating missing individuals. Despite the heartbreak caused by his wife's abandonment, Stefano expressed his willingness to forgive her and welcome her back if she reached out.

A Surprising Twist

After weeks without any news, Stefano took an unexpected step: using his appearance on the show to make a public appeal for a new companion. "I want someone by my side. I've reached 94 years of age, so if a single, divorced, or widowed woman is interested, she can come and stay with me," the nonagenarian declared.

Stefano's Television Journey

Adding to the intrigue, Stefano Mella's television past has astonished the audience. Prior to his appearance on Chi l'ha Visto?, Stefano had participated in other TV programs like Uomini e Donne and C'è Posta per Te, searching for companionship over several years with little success.

His story has sparked sympathy and amazement in Italian media, not only for his willingness to accept his Cuban wife back if she returns but also for his persistent quest for companionship in his later years. Although he has initiated legal separation proceedings, Stefano remains hopeful that his Cuban wife might return one day.

Meanwhile, his public call has launched a new romantic pursuit, this time in front of millions of viewers.
