"People only truly die when they are forgotten." With these heartfelt words, TikTok user @cariperez24, a Cuban residing in Italy, paid an emotional tribute to reggaeton artist El Taiger following his tragic death in Miami. In her video, where one of the artist's biggest hits, "Papelito," plays in the background, the young woman expressed profound respect for the singer's legacy.

"The industry will feel empty without his songs because, despite his virtues and flaws, there's no denying that the Tranka of Cuba was a master at writing and singing," she remarked a few days ago upon learning of the reggaeton star's passing. Throughout the video, she displayed her admiration for the artist and urged fans to remember him through his music.

"If God gave the world a chance, why can't we give him the chance to be remembered this way: as a joyful partygoer with songs that naturally became hits," she urged in her message.

She concluded her tribute by stating, "My personal homage goes to José, to El Taiger, to the Tranka. He's going to revolutionize the heavens, and that's how I want to envision him."

The Legacy of a Cuban Reggaeton Icon

The death of El Taiger, which occurred on October 10 in Miami after he was fatally shot in the head, has left a significant void among his followers and the Cuban artistic community. His funeral will be held at the San Lázaro Catholic Church in Hialeah, Miami, where fans will have the opportunity to say their goodbyes.

With hits like "Papelito," "La Historia," "Me Kemaste," and "Habla Matador," among many others, El Taiger influenced more than one generation in Cuban reggaeton. His fans, as expressed by @cariperez24, are determined to keep his memory alive through his music.
