Friday, October 18, 2024 by Alex Smith

Cuban singer and songwriter Lenier Mesa has opened up about the breakdown of his relationships with urban music artists Jacob Forever and Osmani García, with whom he previously collaborated. In an interview with YouTuber Carlos Adyan, Lenier candidly discussed the absence of friendship with these musicians, attributing the fallout to "things done wrong."

A significant topic of the conversation was his estrangement from Jacob Forever, someone he has unfollowed on Instagram. Lenier explained, "Things were done wrong. I'm someone who is either a friend or not a friend. If you're not my friend, you can't be part of my circle," he stated, referring to the artist known as "El Inmortal."

Despite this separation, Lenier clarified that he harbors no ill will and would have no issue greeting Jacob if they ever cross paths. "I don't wish him any harm, when we see each other around, he can say hi, I have no problem, we've already talked about it," he added.

Disillusionment with Osmani García

Regarding Osmani García, Lenier expressed his disappointment, noting that their relationship soured following one of his trips to Cuba. According to the singer, "La Voz" started speaking negatively about him on social media, leading to their estrangement and his subsequent decision to unfollow Osmani as well. "Osmani too, when I went to Cuba, he started talking crap about me on social media. When I support you and you treat me poorly in return, I don't see that as right," he remarked with frustration.

These revelations have stirred interest among fans of Cuban urban music, especially given the previous musical collaborations between the three artists. While Lenier has made it clear that reconciliation is not on the horizon, he does not seem to hold deep grudges, leaving the door open for public cordiality should they meet again in the future.

Impact on the Music Industry

This episode highlights the internal tensions that artists often face within the music industry, where friendships and collaborations can be strained by misunderstandings or personal conflicts. It serves as a reminder of the challenges musicians navigate in maintaining professional and personal relationships.
