Cuban Singer La Diosa Speaks Out Amid Energy Crisis: "They're Slowly Killing You"

Saturday, October 19, 2024 by James Rodriguez

Amid the ongoing energy crisis plaguing Cuba, which has left the island in a blackout for over 24 hours, several exiled artists, including La Diosa, have reached out to the Cuban people through social media. The singer took to Instagram to remind her followers of a viral video she made during her time in Cuba, highlighting the unbearable conditions of power outages lasting five to six hours. "Imagine now, it's only going to get worse. You're living through this, knowing that the person responsible for your suffering decided to use the law of the funnel on you. Everything for them, nothing for you," she expressed.

"Solar panels here in the United States are extremely expensive, even I don't have them," La Diosa continued, addressing the recent statements made by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz and officials from the Ministry of Energy and Mines. "Do you know what they've asked you to do? It's as if they asked you to capture a piece of the sun, because you don't have the money for food or anything else."

La Diosa passionately told the Cuban people, "They're slowly killing you while you're still alive. I don't know if you realize that the life you're living is the only one you have. It saddens me to see how you live, to see your condition. This is the moment when everything you have amounts to nothing."

Harsh Realities and Stark Warnings

Unable to fully comprehend the situation in Cuba, the artist remarked, "Sometimes I think these people want you to end up devouring each other. These shameless individuals have no scruples, and they don't even feel embarrassed by all the videos circulating on social media. They should be ashamed to stand there and admit they lack this or that after boasting for years about their capabilities."

She went on to assert, "This crying is a plea for some country, any that might still be willing, to offer them aid because they're masters at hustling," reflecting on similar occurrences in the past.

La Diosa concluded with a sobering message: "You'll come to realize, Cuban, that you'll have to leave; it's your only option." She emphasized that Cubans on the island are the only ones who can change the suffocating system.
