Teresa Padrón, the manager of the slain Cuban reggaeton artist Jose Manuel Carbajal, known as El Taiger, has voiced her disapproval of the planned tribute to the musician at the 2024 Fiesta Latina in Miami. The event intends to charge fans for entry. "While his ashes are being sent to Cuba so that his people and family can say their final goodbyes. It's sad that no one could spare even a dollar for his wake or anything, and now a tribute charging people?! I don't understand anything! My silence and patience won't last much longer," Padrón expressed in response to the event's announcement on Instagram.

In a separate post, the manager described the tribute as a "disrespect" and vowed not to tolerate "another shameless act towards Jose and his children, son, and family." Padrón further declared her unwavering loyalty to El Taiger, stating, "I will defend you until my death; no amount of money can buy my loyalty to you." She concluded with a warning that she will "go to battle against anyone trying to exploit you."

Public Farewell and Emotional Tribute

The passing of El Taiger, one of the most beloved Cuban reggaeton artists in recent years both within and outside of Cuba, has shocked thousands over the past weeks. This tragedy has sparked speculation critiquing his team for allegedly failing to protect the musician. The Fiesta Latina is set to be held at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Saturday, October 26. It will feature performances by artists like Feid, Sebastián Yatra, Wisin, Manuel Turizo, Chencho Corleone, María Becerra, and a special appearance by the Black Eyed Peas. DJ Conds, a friend and collaborator of El Taiger, will also be present.

Tickets for the event are available through Ticketmaster, and it will be hosted by Enrique Santos, who confirmed that a tribute to the Cuban reggaeton star, a key figure in the so-called Cubatón movement, will be included.

Two days ago, Padrón publicly bid farewell to the reggaeton artist after his funeral, which took place on Saturday, October 19, at the San Lázaro Catholic Church in Hialeah, Florida. She shared a heartfelt message on social media, expressing her grief over losing her friend and close collaborator: "We have given the final farewell to the most wonderful man I have ever known. It was a pleasure to be your friend, your manager, your support, your confidante, and more," she wrote, highlighting the deep bond she had with the artist.

The message, which conveys both gratitude and sorrow, continues: "I'm grateful to God for bringing you into my life, and I will miss you for a lifetime. Always, José."
