Cuban presenter Alexander Otaola voiced his disapproval on his show regarding the recent controversy surrounding the use of El Taiger's image in the music video for the song "Papita Frita." This track features artists Lenier Mesa, Tekashi 6ix9ine, and Oniel Bebeshito.
The dispute ignited when Jorge Junior, head of Los 4, expressed anger over the inclusion of his late cousin El Taiger's image in the video. Jorge Junior deemed it a disrespectful act, underscoring that the family was not consulted about using his cousin's likeness.
Otaola responded to Jorge Junior's remarks on his online program, expressing disbelief at what he labeled as a lack of sensitivity. He criticized the decision to feature someone recently cremated in a song titled "Papita Frita," arguing that such a title is inappropriate for honoring a deceased individual. "It's hard to believe there's a song for El Taiger called 'Papita Frita.' Common sense dictates that if you truly care for and respect the departed, you wouldn't choose 'Papita Frita' as a tribute," Otaola remarked.
Criticism Grows Over Video's Content
"If the song isn't meant for El Taiger, then why is his photo displayed?" Otaola questioned. He emphasized that using the late artist's image in a song with that title is not fitting. Numerous Cubans and El Taiger's fans share Otaola's viewpoint.
Concluding his comments, Otaola stated emphatically that he would not want to be remembered in such a manner. "I don't want people to remember me like that," he declared, reiterating that the use of El Taiger's image in the "Papita Frita" video fails as a proper tribute.
