In the early hours of Saturday, a significant accident involving three trucks took place at the entrance to Camagüey province, as reported on social media. Witnesses noted that the incident occurred near the Radio Reloj station, just before reaching the Florida checkpoint.

Photos shared across accident report groups on Facebook reveal the severe nature of the crash, which fortunately resulted in only four injuries. No further details about the victims' conditions were provided. One user commented, "Thank God there are no fatalities; all four injured are not in life-threatening conditions," on a Facebook group post titled "Automobile Accidents in Cuba."

Impact and Aftermath

The collision between two of the trucks appeared to be head-on, as evidenced by the damage visible in the photos to both drivers' cabins. While the causes of this unfortunate event remain unspecified, several online commenters noted that traffic on the Central Highway was halted for several hours.

One individual shared their experience, stating, "I passed by at 5:00 a.m. It looked bad. I couldn't take pictures because it was too dark and traffic was stopped. When I returned later, there was nothing left, just some ham wrappers and a lot of glass. By 10 a.m., everything was cleared except for a broken electricity pole," as per a post in the Facebook group "ACCIDENTES BUSES & CAMIONES por más experiencia y menos víctimas!"

Dangerous Cuban Roads

Another user commented on the inherent dangers of traveling on Cuban roads, which often lack proper lighting and are riddled with potholes. "We need to drive carefully on these bad roads. Blaming the potholes won't help; we need to exercise caution because we all know the condition of the roads. It's nothing new. The saddest part is that there's always someone waiting for us at home," the commenter remarked.

Just this past Wednesday, several individuals were injured when a Nissan van they were traveling in crashed into an electricity pole in the Diez de Octubre municipality of Havana. The incident occurred precisely at Úrsula and Destrampes in the Sevillano neighborhood.

Additionally, on the same Wednesday, a collision between a bus and a motorcycle resulted in the death of a motorcyclist in Santa Cruz del Norte, Mayabeque province. The deceased was identified as "Yunieski," described by an online user as "a great guy and from an excellent family."
