A touching reunion took place this Monday as the dog Kiara finally reconnected with her owners in Spain, ending a five-year separation that kept them apart. The heartwarming moment when Kiara saw her owners was shared on TikTok by the pet transport service Pet Cuba Travel, showcasing the joy of this long-awaited meeting.
“After so many years, Kiara never forgot them, and her wagging tail clearly shows the immense happiness she felt being with them again,” the company shared in a post, quoting one of the owners. “After five years and a 24-hour flight, I finally get to be with my little one again,” the post continued.
“As soon as she heard us, she ran toward us without hesitation, her tail wagging with joy,” they expressed in an emotional message, capturing the precise moment when Kiara spotted her owners amid a crowd. “We never left her behind; she is the joy of our hearts,” they affirmed. “And after much effort, we managed to reunite.”
The Challenge of Reuniting with Pets from Cuba
When emigrating, many people leave their pets in Cuba, sometimes in the care of protectors or new owners. Unfortunately, in less fortunate scenarios, animals end up abandoned. Despite these challenges, numerous Cubans go to great lengths to be reunited with their beloved pets after leaving the island.
Such was the case with a young Cuban man and his dog in Miami, whose reunion became viral on social media, touching the hearts of many who watched the video. Dante, a white Labrador, had to stay behind in Cuba when his owner moved to Miami, Florida. However, his owner never forgot him and fought to bring him to his new home in the United States.
