Cuban actress Larisa Vega has joined forces with Andy Vázquez in a heartfelt effort to aid those affected by Hurricane Oscar in the eastern provinces of Cuba. Vázquez, known for his role as Facundo in the series "Vivir del cuento," expressed gratitude for the support from Larisa and her husband Rigoberto Morales, who contributed to relief efforts for the disaster victims. "It’s devastating what's happening there, losing the little they have... we help however we can," Vega remarked.
Since 2019, the actress has been residing in Cape Coral, Lee County, where Andy relocated with his family after leaving Miami earlier this year. Last Friday, Andy made a public appeal urging solidarity with fellow Cubans impacted by the hurricane. "I'm here to ask for support from the community, from everyone willing to help our brothers and sisters in eastern Cuba, who have lost everything. If you're interested, please contact me at 239-470-8181," he stated in a live broadcast.
Community Mobilization for Relief Efforts
The comedian showcased several packages containing donations from the Cuban community in the United States, as well as contributions he personally prepared. "We’re accepting clothing, toys, nails, hammers, anything... These are items I bought at Walmart yesterday. I purchased 100 pounds of beans, 270 candies, and other small things... Here are also leftover items from the previous donation for the lady whose house burned down," he explained.
Donations Over Monetary Contributions
Vázquez emphasized that those wishing to help should do so through donations of goods rather than money. "No cash, only donations... items you have at home that you no longer use," he stressed.
