Cuban singer Jorge Junior Hernández Carvajal, who leads the band Los 4, and his 21-year-old son, Jaide Hernández, were detained at Panama's airport this past Wednesday. Utilizing the single phone call allowed to them, they streamed the situation live via Jaide's Instagram account, voicing their outrage over the incident.
During the broadcast, Jorge Junior explained that both he and his son were forced to disembark from a Copa Airlines flight en route to Peru, where they were scheduled to perform. "I am being detained. If I don't make it to the concert, this is why. I'm detained at the airport in Panama. This is unjust. They're trying to put us through a court for no reason. We're being held unfairly," declared the Cuban singer, displaying his handcuffs with security personnel and even military officers visible in the background. "This is a setup," added Jaide in the video.
The live stream was abruptly stopped after a little over a minute when someone behind them instructed them to cease recording.
