The Cuban reggaeton artist Jorge Junior has stirred up a storm of comments and controversy by announcing on social media—via a now-deleted video—his intention to conduct DNA tests on three of the four children of his late cousin and fellow musician, El Taiger, prior to initiating the legal proceedings for the inheritance.
In a video released recently, Jorge Junior elaborated that he has taken on the responsibility of handling the artist’s estate. However, a dilemma has arisen because three of the children do not carry the musician's last name. By pursuing DNA testing, Jorge Junior aims to ensure that the rightful heirs receive their due portions, committing to cover the costs of these tests to confirm paternity and secure that the legitimate heirs benefit from El Taiger's legacy.
“Since José Manuel Carbajar Zaldívar, before his passing, had doubts about two or three birth certificates, I will earnestly request, to proceed legally, DNA testing for each of them, and I will pay for it,” stated the reggaeton artist.
The video has sparked mixed reactions from the public. Some see it as a necessary step to safeguard the interests of El Taiger’s legitimate offspring, while others view it as an unnecessary challenge during a sensitive time for the family.
