Cuban comedian Ulises Toirac has taken a jab at the nation's top leaders, holding them accountable for the worst crisis the country has faced in decades. In a post shared on his Facebook page, Ulises sarcastically credited the current situation to "the wisdom and relentless effort of our economic leaders who spare no sacrifice."
"Everything is unfolding just as Murillo, all decked out with his millionaire's watch, promised: without inflation, maintaining faith in socialism, as Gil demanded while moving his (our) money out of the country," he emphasized.
The actor also highlighted other pressing issues such as inflation, power outages, soaring prices, and food scarcity.
Struggling Through Daily Challenges
"Onward... With daily energy deficits exceeding 1000 MW, and just to cite an example, the price jump of the H. Upmann cigarettes without filter from 200 CUP—which was already outrageous—to 300 CUP in less than a week... An ever-growing subsidized quota at the bodega (in terms of quantity, variety, and quality—I love Vietnamese rice and eating without sugar, which is harmful to health)," he remarked.
"Look, it gives me chills!" Ulises added, dubbing 2024 as the "Year of Painful Progress."
