Alexis Valdés recently took to social media to share his visit to the Acosta Dance Centre in London, where he had a memorable encounter with the esteemed Cuban dancer, Carlos Acosta. In an Instagram video, Valdés is heard praising Acosta as “the great Cuban dancer.” As Valdés arrived at the academy, he was greeted with applause, accompanied by his partner, Claudia, who shared in the special occasion.

The comedian and presenter added captions to the video, highlighting Acosta’s significance in the arts. “Commander of the Order of the British Empire. No small feat,” he noted, emphasizing the recognition Acosta has garnered in the UK.

Back in April, Acosta was nominated in the UK for Outstanding Creative Contribution for his work on Black Sabbath_The Ballet, a performance that blends classical ballet with music from the British band Black Sabbath. His company, Acosta Danza, also received accolades in the Best Medium Company category, showcasing its influence on the dance scene.
