Authorities have apprehended two individuals suspected of murdering a 57-year-old Cuban man in Colón, Matanzas on October 28, as reported by sources linked to the Ministry of the Interior (MININT). The suspects, identified as Luis Daniel Pompa Pedroso and Yordan Zulueta Rivero, were taken into custody a few days following the incident, which occurred on América Arias Street in the aforementioned locality, according to the Facebook page "Con Todos La Victoria," which is associated with MININT and echoed by several Cuban official profiles.

During the operation that led to their arrest, authorities reportedly found a knife and blood-stained clothing on the suspects. The victim, known as Ricardo García but referred to by his nickname "Ñiquiñaca," was brutally assaulted in the face and stabbed multiple times. The attackers allegedly targeted him to steal his electric scooter, money, and the jewelry he was wearing.

According to a digital creator on social media known as "Díaz Canel Sin Gao," who shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp message from someone close to the victim, the stab wounds inflicted severe damage to García's ribs and colon. He was admitted to the intensive care unit at Colón's Mario Muñoz Monroy Municipal Hospital, where he was intubated and ultimately succumbed to complications from his injuries.
