Celebrated Cuban actor Orlando Fundichely exercised his right to cast an early vote this past Sunday in the United States elections, a pivotal moment in deciding whether the world's most powerful nation will lean Republican or Democrat for the next four years. This election essentially determines whether Donald Trump or Kamala Harris will lead as president.

Fundichely seized this significant occasion to share his experience on Instagram, emphasizing the profound importance for Cubans of being able to vote freely, thanks to the "privilege of living in a non-communist country." Reflecting on the past 64 years of his homeland's struggle under what he described as "the usurpation of power," the actor voiced his support for Javier Milei with a spirited "Viva la libertad, carajo!"

His post sparked a variety of responses, including skepticism about the fairness of the U.S. electoral system, just a day before the crucial vote. An Argentine commenter, Aymé Mariñas, responded to Fundichely's mention of Milei, pointing out the increase in poverty and insecurity in Argentina since Milei assumed leadership, despite not being governed by a communist.

Meanwhile, others praised the actor for his stance. Loli María Pulido López expressed agreement, celebrating the liberty to choose and live freely, sending "infinite blessings."

Record Voter Turnout in Miami-Dade

Early voting centers in Miami-Dade closed on Sunday after a busy day, with over half of the electorate casting their votes, marking an unprecedented turnout. Official figures show that 539,512 voters participated early, with 41.9% identifying as Republicans, 29% as Democrats, and 26.9% as independents.

This November 3rd marked the final day of early voting, characterized by long lines and waiting times exceeding 40 minutes. Fundichely, known in Cuba for his role as Suchel in the series "Su propia guerra," made his way to the polls on this bustling day.

Strong Cuban-American Support for Trump in Miami-Dade

According to a survey conducted by Florida International University (FIU), former U.S. President and Republican candidate Donald Trump is projected to receive an overwhelming 68% support from Cuban-American voters in Miami-Dade, a figure that suggests a "historic high." Should these predictions hold true, it would mark yet another record of backing for Trump within this community.
