A Lada car sustained extensive damage to its front end after colliding with another vehicle in the La Lisa district of Havana. The accident occurred on Monday morning at the intersection of 51st and 226th streets, resulting in no injuries but significant material damage.
Images shared by Alberto José Turro Sevila in the Facebook group “ACCIDENTES BUSES & CAMIONES por más experiencia y menos víctimas!” show the Lada with noticeable impact on its front, especially on the right side where the headlight and bodywork are visibly damaged.
The other vehicle, described as a green Ford with a red stripe, resembling an old minibus or van, also exhibited front-end damage, indicating its involvement in the accident. A crowd gathered around the vehicles, including passengers from the van and several motorized police officers.
"It happened right at the entrance of the Provincial Traffic Unit, so the police arrived quickly," commented one user on the social media post.
As of the writing of this report, no further details have emerged about the causes of the collision. This incident highlights a growing list of accidents attributed to the deplorable road conditions, lack of traffic education, the age and poor state of vehicles, and non-functioning traffic lights due to the ongoing energy crisis, all of which create a hazardous environment for drivers.
