Cuban urban music artist Alexander Delgado, from the widely acclaimed duo Gente de Zona, has voiced his anticipation for justice in the wake of the extradition of Damián Valdez-Galloso to Miami. Valdez-Galloso is the chief suspect in the murder of Cuban reggaeton singer El Taiger, whose real name was José Manuel Carbajal Zaldívar.
In a heartfelt Instagram story, Alexander shared an old photo with El Taiger, highlighting the bond they shared. He emotionally remarked, "We are one step from justice. You are missed," resonating with the Cuban artistic community and fans who feel the loss of El Taiger deeply.
Extradition and Charges
Nicknamed "El Narra," Valdez-Galloso was extradited from New York on Wednesday after being arrested in Queens on October 29, following over 20 days as a fugitive. In Miami, he faces serious charges, including second-degree murder, evidence tampering, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
According to the police report, Damián allegedly shot El Taiger at his home, transported him in his vehicle, and left him near Jackson Memorial Hospital, where El Taiger succumbed to his injuries days later.
Community Support and Ongoing Investigation
The extradition and legal proceedings have rekindled public interest in the case. Miami authorities have reiterated that Valdez-Galloso is solely accountable for the crime. While full details have not been disclosed, surveillance footage capturing critical moments of the crime remains part of the ongoing investigation.
Alexander Delgado, along with many others in the artistic community, has shown solidarity with El Taiger's family, hoping the legal process will deliver justice for their friend and colleague.
