In the aftermath of Hurricane Rafael's impact on several western provinces of Cuba, authorities are urging heightened vigilance to prevent road accidents during the recovery phase. This advisory was communicated by Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, the Minister of Transportation, emphasizing the need for caution among "vehicle drivers and other road users."

"We have fortunately not lost any lives due to the hurricane. Let's ensure we don't lose any to traffic accidents that can be avoided with increased care," the official stated.

Social media platforms are beginning to display images of the hurricane's aftermath, which has inflicted significant damage in Artemisa, Mayabeque, and Havana. A Facebook page named "Naturaleza Secreta" highlighted the efforts of a micro, small, and medium enterprise (Mipyme) in clearing debris from various streets in the capital.

The business, known as TRANSCONS BUENFIL S.U.R.L, is actively involved in clearing waste and fallen trees along Vía Blanca, stretching from Lacret Street to Fábrica Street, utilizing its workforce and equipment. Vía Blanca is a major thoroughfare in Havana, as noted by the page.

Hurricane Rafael has left a trail of substantial destruction across Cuba, particularly damaging road, electrical, and communication infrastructures in different provinces. The intense rains and winds led to flooding in both urban and rural areas, structural collapses, and road blockages from fallen trees and debris.
