Yordenis Ugás Denounces Exiles Alarmed by Cuba's Fate After Trump's Victory: "It's Hypocrisy"

Cuban boxer Yordenis Ugás has voiced strong criticism towards fellow Cubans living in the United States who are expressing concern over Cuba's future following Donald Trump's election victory on Tuesday. In a live session on his Facebook profile, Ugás labeled it as "hypocrisy" for so many exiled Cubans to claim worry for those still on the Island while never taking active steps towards their homeland’s freedom.

"For years, we've urged activism, and many of them respond with, 'I send money to my family, my family is fine.' Yet, they disregard their neighbor who has nothing," he challenged. Ugás believes the worst stance Cuban emigrants can adopt is refraining from condemning the dictatorship just so they can travel back to the Island.

The Paradox of Silence

"In Cuba, they remained silent because they weren't allowed to leave, and here they stay quiet out of fear they won't be allowed back in. These are the same individuals now worried about Cubans because Trump won; please," Ugás concluded.

Recognized as a fervent opponent of the Cuban communist regime, Ugás is an ardent supporter of Donald Trump. Following the Republican triumph in the elections, he extended his gratitude to the American people for granting Trump four more years to "complete the work he began in 2016."

Trump: A Controversial Figure

"He is not the best person in the world. He is a man with virtues and flaws, but he loves his country and has been willing to risk everything for it through this process, possessing what it takes to steer this ship to a better harbor," Ugás expressed on Facebook.

"He is chosen by God. A warrior who fills his followers with pride. (...) Making history as the second president to reclaim the White House after being defeated. Go, president. Go and become the greatest president in the history of this beautiful and blessed country. Do it! Make America great again," he stated.
