A drawing of the late Cuban reggaeton artist, El Taiger, has taken Facebook by storm, though not entirely for the reasons intended. The artwork was meant as a tribute, but many felt it missed the mark in capturing the artist’s likeness. The piece has generated a flood of comments, primarily critiques noting its lack of resemblance to the singer's face.

Public Reaction: A Mixed Bag

Comments poured in, with one user stating, "What a lovely drawing, truly a talent. The only small detail missing is that it doesn't look like El Taiger, but otherwise, it's divine." Another remarked, "The most beautiful feature of El Taiger were his eyes, and in this painting, he looks like an Asian with one eye more open than the other. We appreciate the homage, but you need more practice; I suggest not publishing until the painting is right." Similarly, a critic noted, "The only thing missing from the drawing is its resemblance to El Taiger." Others humorously pointed out that the artwork looked more like "Che in reggaeton mode, because it doesn't resemble El Taiger at all."

Support for the Artist's Intention

Despite the negative feedback, several supporters emphasized the value of the tribute and encouraged the artist to refine their technique. "What matters is the sentiment. Blessings to you," one user wrote. "How critical people can be; the drawing is well done, blessings, those who criticize can't do it themselves," another added. Encouragement continued with messages like, "Well done, he deserves everything, wherever he is. Justice for El Taiger," and, "Don't give up, try until you get it right, blessings. With passion and interest, everything is possible."

A Legacy Remembered

Following El Taiger's passing on October 10, many fans and fellow artists have paid tribute by tattooing his initials, LMBA, or even his likeness on their bodies. While the drawing may have sparked debate, it underscores the deep impact and lasting legacy of the reggaeton star, whose memory continues to inspire personal and artistic expressions of homage.
