The Cuban artistic community and fans are mourning the untimely death of Inima Fuentes, a talented young actress whose passing was confirmed this weekend by the CubaActores social media account. "We deeply regret the passing of Inima Fuentes, a lyrical singer, producer, and filmmaker. Her remarkable talent and charisma made her a beloved figure among her peers and art enthusiasts. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her husband, family, and friends," the message conveyed.
Danny González Lucena, a journalist, also paid tribute to Fuentes on social media, reminiscing about the youthful years they shared.
Originally from Cienfuegos, Cuba, Fuentes lived in Spain. Despite facing a challenging battle with cancer in recent years, she never allowed her creative voice to be silenced and continued to push forward with artistic endeavors.
Her diverse career spanned performances with various theater groups and a significant role as a teacher at the Instituto Superior de Arte. She also explored filmmaking and audiovisual production.
A Lasting Legacy in Film and Education
One of her final contributions was the short film "Marrón," released in September, which delves into the experiences of individuals battling cancer.
In one of her last Facebook posts, Fuentes celebrated achieving a Master's degree in Live Performance Arts, leaving her followers with a message of hope: “No one can tell you what you can or cannot do with your life.”
