President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, has begun unveiling the key figures who will shape his upcoming administration, set to commence on January 20, 2025. These appointments reflect his commitment to advancing his MAGA ('Make America Great Again') agenda. Notably, Trump has named his campaign director, Susie Wiles, as the first woman to serve as White House Chief of Staff.

"Susie is tough, smart, innovative, and universally admired and respected," Trump stated in a press release.

Focus on National Security and Border Control

The selection of Trump's cabinet members underscores a strong emphasis on national security and border management, key promises from his presidential campaign. On Sunday, Trump introduced Tom Homan, a 62-year-old known for his hardline stance on immigration, as the new "border czar."

"I am pleased to announce that former ICE director and staunch border control advocate, Tom Homan, will join the Trump administration, overseeing our nation's borders," Trump announced on Truth Social.

According to EFE, Homan's appointment signals a likely enforcement of stringent border control policies.

Strategic Appointments in Policy and Environmental Protection

Stephen Miller has been designated as the Deputy Director of Policy at the White House, a choice praised by Vice President-elect JD Vance as "another fantastic decision by the president." At 39, Miller, who served as Trump's advisor during his first term, is a crucial strategist regarding immigration issues, as confirmed by Vance.

Further official appointments include Lee Zeldin as head of the Environmental Protection Agency and Elise Stefanik as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

Speculative Appointments and Future Announcements

While additional announcements are expected, some names have already surfaced through media leaks, though not officially confirmed. According to Reuters, Trump is considering Republican Congressman Mike Waltz for the role of National Security Advisor. Waltz, a retired Army Green Beret, has been a vocal critic of China.

For the position of Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, the current governor of South Dakota, is reportedly in line, forming a crucial trio focused on migration policy.

Finally, there are reports evaluating the appointment of Cuban-American Senator Marco Rubio to lead the Department of State. Although the decision is yet to be finalized, sources close to Trump suggest Rubio, 53, is a strong contender for this influential position, partly due to his experience and the symbolic role he plays as a Latino leader in the Republican Party.

Trump's return to the White House has been bolstered by significant support from the American electorate, particularly for his policies on immigration control, protectionist economic measures, and traditional values. However, his administration's approach may also present challenges to national unity and stability, as well as international relations, likely following a path reminiscent of his previous tenure.
