In a heartfelt reunion, Cuban singer-songwriters Liuba María Hevia and Carlos Varela met this week in Madrid, Spain. The encounter took place on the bustling Gran Vía, one of the city's most iconic streets. Liuba shared a video on Facebook, showing both artists smiling and enjoying the company of friends, capturing the warmth of their camaraderie.

The singer and composer expressed, "This is an emotional and magical meeting with my prince, Carlos Varela, but the best is yet to come. In a few days, we will meet again to listen to his new album Nada es como antes, which I’ve heard is marvelous." Liuba María left her fans eagerly anticipating Varela's new work, highlighting his significant influence on Cuban trova music.

To conclude the video, Hevia and Varela delighted their followers by performing a few lines from "El despertar," a children's song they recorded years ago, still cherished by many Cubans. Fans of these musical icons have celebrated this reunion on social media, eagerly anticipating more shared moments in Spain.

Earlier in November, Liuba announced her work on a documentary titled "Mi abuelo Hevia" in Spain, honoring her Asturian roots and the story of someone very special in her life. She will collaborate with Misuko Ygm and Pepe Hevia in this audiovisual project.
