Miami-Dade authorities are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for any leads on the truck driver involved in a hit-and-run that resulted in the death of a Cuban agricultural worker in the southwest part of the county last Monday. The victim, Alexis Muñoz, aged 46, was riding a scooter when he was fatally struck by a truck on the morning of November 11. Muñoz, a father of three, hailed from Cuba.

Crime Stoppers of Miami-Dade has announced the reward for information leading to the arrest of the driver, as reported by Local 10 news. Individuals with information regarding the incident can call 305-471-2425 and have the option to remain anonymous, according to the organization.

Details of the Incident

The tragic event occurred around 6:00 a.m. at the intersection of 194th Avenue and 208th Street, in close proximity to Costa Farms Color Division, where Muñoz was employed. Authorities stated that a 2022 Ford F-250 truck, towing a distinctive orange Kubota loader and a black trailer, was heading south when it hit Muñoz and failed to stop.

Community Outcry and Police Appeal

Rather than assist or report the accident, the driver fled the scene, boarding a red pickup truck and leaving Muñoz behind. In response, the Miami-Dade Police are actively seeking assistance from the community to identify and locate the individual responsible.

The Cuban community in Miami has been vocal in demanding justice for Muñoz, described by friends and family as a "wonderful man, friend, and exceptional father."
