Cuban actor Luis Alberto García took to social media to clarify that he was not ill following Hurricane Rafael's impact on western Cuba. His fans had expressed concern about his well-being, but he emphasized that it's his country that is suffering. In a video shared on his Instagram profile, García expressed gratitude to those who wished him a happy birthday on November 10 and to those who were worried about him in the cyclone's aftermath.
To ensure his message was understood, García further clarified in a comment on his post: "Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. I was not sick after the storm nor am I now. When I spoke about 'my state,' I was referring to the agony of spending days and nights without electricity, without water, and without gas."
The actor highlighted, "It's my country that's sick. Unwell. In fragile health," referring to the recent hardships that have plagued the island.
Public Outcry and Criticism
In recent days, actress Tahimí Alvariño also vented her frustrations on social media after enduring six days without electricity in Havana, demanding that authorities address the lingering chaos in the hurricane's wake.
