In the early hours of Saturday, a devastating car accident in northwest Miami-Dade claimed the lives of four individuals, including three members of a Cuban family and a Venezuelan national. The victims were identified by Miami-Dade Police on Monday as Lainet Rodríguez, 48, and Liudmila Lara Rodríguez, 29. However, the identities of the other two deceased were not officially released, according to a report by Telemundo51.
Friends and family of the victims have since confirmed on social media that the two women, a mother and daughter, along with the daughter's young son, Bryan Cardoso Lara, aged eight, were among those who perished. The family hailed from San José de las Lajas in the province of Mayabeque. Additionally, influencer Niover Licea confirmed that the accident also claimed the life of the young Venezuelan, José Yance, who was Lara's partner.
Details of the Tragic Incident
The collision occurred around 12:53 a.m. at the intersection of Northwest 72nd Avenue and 74th Street, involving three vehicles, as detailed in a statement by Miami-Dade Police. "As a result of the crash, three adults and a child were critically injured inside a black sedan," the police reported.
Authorities stated that one woman and a man were pronounced dead at the scene due to their severe injuries. Another woman was transported to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, while the child was airlifted to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Tragically, both succumbed to their injuries.

According to information provided by the Miami-Dade Police to the television network, Lara was seated in the front passenger seat, while Rodríguez was in the rear left seat of the vehicle. In the wake of this tragedy, Roxana Lara Reyes, sister of the deceased young Cuban woman, has set up a GoFundMe account to cover funeral expenses for the four victims. "I am raising funds for the funeral of my sister, her son, her mother, and her husband, who died in a tragic traffic accident in Miami-Dade today, 11/16/2024 at 12:53 am," she wrote in her plea for help.
Additionally, family and friends of Yance have initiated a fundraising campaign to repatriate his body for burial in his hometown of Anaco, in Anzoátegui, Venezuela. The untimely loss of these four individuals in the prime of their lives has left relatives and friends deeply saddened, with numerous expressions of grief and condolences flooding social media.
