An intellectually disabled Cuban woman from Jatibonico, Sancti Spíritus, has been missing from her home for more than a month, prompting her family to turn to social media in hopes of finding her. Her foster sister, Viviana Reyes, posted photographs in the Facebook group "REVOLICO SANCTI SPIRITUS Y SUS ALREDEDORES," along with a phone number for anyone who might have information.
"Please, if anyone sees her, call me immediately. She has been missing for a month, and we have no news of her. She is from Jatibonico. My number is 58921461," Reyes pleaded.
A neighbor reached out to CiberCuba to help spread the word about the case, noting, "She is from Arroyo Blanco Jatibonico. She is my neighbor and has mild intellectual disabilities..."
Previous Incidents and Public Appeals
The first online report about her disappearance was made on October 24. "She has been missing since October 16, she has intellectual disabilities and cannot find her way back home," Reyes wrote at that time.
In the comments section, Reyes explained this is not the first time her sister has gone missing. "About a year ago, she disappeared, and I found her by posting online. She was in Chambas, but now I was told she headed to Sancti Spíritus," she elaborated.
Similar Cases Highlight Broader Concerns
This week, CiberCuba also covered the disappearance of Claudia Cárdenas from Ciego de Ávila, who has been missing for over three months despite her family's efforts to find her. Claudia, 27, has a mental disability that causes her to act like a small child. She is known to be non-aggressive and very affectionate. She went missing on August 7 after leaving her home in the village of San Rafael, in Baraguá.
