The radio community in Villa Clara, along with her devoted listeners, mourns the passing of Hanny Gómez Méndez, a cherished and respected voice on the province's state-run radio, this Wednesday. Her colleague Jorge Nilo Coello Machado shared that the beloved radio host succumbed after "battling an illness."

Hanny Gómez spent her life in the realm of communication, leaving a lasting impact through her work in various radio shows, most notably at CMHW, where her voice became a staple for the audience. Her prominent role in the historic morning show "Patria," among other programs, cemented her status as a significant figure in the official radio scene of Villa Clara.

Estereocentro, another station where she left her professional mark, expressed deep sorrow over Hanny's passing. Throughout her career, she also contributed to Radio Sagua, Sagua Televisión, and CMHW. In a heartfelt message, the Estereocentro team commemorated her relentless dedication and her connection with listeners. "Farewell, Hanny. Your voice will remain in the hearts and memories of everyone who listened to you," they posted on social media.

Coello Machado also paid tribute to Hanny in an emotional message, saying, "This battle you've lost, I believe it's the only one I've seen you lose, and sadly, it's the last. Left behind are your days in the classroom, your always correct answers, your fight for everything, and your triumphs, your outstanding career as a prominent host in the radio and television of your Sagua la Grande and Santa Clara, and a profound sadness over your departure to eternity," he expressed.
