Ernesto Willian Muñiz Leyva, originally from Cárdenas, Matanzas, and now living in the United States, went missing on Tuesday, November 12, around noon while fishing with a friend. Since then, his family has been in a state of distress, desperately seeking information that might lead to his whereabouts.

On Wednesday, his sister, Maidolys Hernández, took to Facebook to announce his disappearance, sharing the family's deep anxiety and their tireless efforts to find answers. Despite reaching out to numerous individuals in hopes of locating her brother, they have yet to receive any substantial information to clarify the situation.

Community Asked to Aid in Search

Hernández has called on the community for assistance, urging anyone with potentially crucial information to come forward. She provided the number 53120055 for tips regarding Ernesto Muñiz's location. However, she did not specify her brother's current place of residence or the exact spot where he went fishing.

The missing man's father also turned to social media, pleading for urgent help in the search for his son. He particularly sought support from his contacts in the U.S., explaining that since his son left to fish with a friend on November 12, there has been no news. His son's sister, based in Tampa, Florida, has contacted authorities and the Coast Guard but has yet to receive concrete feedback.

Authorities and Officials Contacted

The father mentioned being informed that "only a congressman can access that information: Carlos Jiménez or María Elvira Salazar.” He urged those who might communicate with these representatives or have connections with the Coast Guard to assist in gathering information. "The worst feeling in life is this helplessness, not knowing anything about my son," he wrote, expressing gratitude in advance for any help to find him. "I will be thankful for the rest of my life," he concluded.

Neither the father nor the sister has provided details about the friend who accompanied Muñiz on the fishing trip or if he has offered any relevant information regarding the disappearance.

Other Missing Persons Cases

In Matanzas, another young Cuban, Jesús David Corcho Pérez, aged 22 and from Jovellanos, remains missing. According to family and friends, Jesús David has not been seen since last Sunday afternoon when he left home around 4:00 p.m. on his purple motorbike. Additionally, a woman with an intellectual disability has been missing for over a month in Jatibonico, Sancti Spíritus. Her family, frantic over her absence, has turned to social media in hopes of gathering any leads that might help locate her.
