In the early hours of Friday, Cuba experienced a notable drop in temperatures, especially in the interior regions of the provinces of Mayabeque, Matanzas, and Cienfuegos. As the weekend approaches, temperatures are expected to continue their downward trend.

Meteorologist Raydel Ruisánchez shared on social media that on the morning of November 22, temperatures fell below 15°C in some areas. The lowest temperature recorded was 12.4°C in Aguada de Pasajeros, located in Cienfuegos province. Meanwhile, the municipality of Güira de Melena in Artemisa reported a temperature of 17.3°C.

Weather Forecast for the Coming Days

The Institute of Meteorology (INSMET) predicts a cool day this Friday, with rain primarily affecting the central and eastern regions. Afternoon highs are expected to range between 24 and 27°C in the western and central areas, while the rest of the country could see temperatures between 28 and 31°C, with some southern locations experiencing even warmer conditions.

As night falls, temperatures will drop to between 18 and 21°C, with cooler conditions in the interior parts of the western and central regions and warmer temperatures along the coast.

Rain and Wind Patterns

Overcast skies are expected at dawn in the central and eastern parts of the country, accompanied by some showers and rain along the northern coast. By the afternoon, these rain showers are likely to spread to interior and southern areas. Elsewhere, skies will remain partly cloudy with minimal rainfall.

Winds from the northwest to north will blow through the western and central regions at speeds of 15 to 30 km/h. In the eastern regions, winds will be variable and light, shifting northwest in the afternoon along the northern coast.

Marine Conditions

Marine forecasts indicate swells along the northern coast of the far west, with moderate waves expected from Artemisa to Villa Clara and along the southern coast of the west and center. The northern coast will experience slight waves, while the southern coast of the east will see calm seas.

In summary, this weather pattern signals an early taste of winter in Cuba, suggesting it's time to bring out the warmer clothing.
