Goddess Undergoes Gastric Sleeve Surgery in Miami

On Friday, a photo of La Diosa in a hospital bed sparked considerable concern among her fans on social media. The artist later confirmed that she had undergone a gastric sleeve surgery to reduce her stomach size.

In a statement to Papel Encara this Saturday, the singer mentioned she was feeling a bit better and described the day of the surgery as the toughest due to the pain. "This is a gastric sleeve procedure, which is to shrink the stomach. Once the stomach is reduced, you eat less, like a bird, just a tiny amount. You lose a significant amount of weight and can eat a variety of foods, but in moderation," the artist explained.

"All my followers know I was on a soup diet, consuming broths and all that stuff. I did manage to lose quite a bit of weight, but here's the problem: when you slim down and your stomach is large, you'll want to keep eating and quickly regain the pounds. The idea was to prevent that from happening again. In short, I won't be overweight anymore. I think I'll reach a size S, as the doctor said I'll lose about 50 pounds," she said with a smile.

La Diosa shared that she recorded the entire procedure to share with her followers, particularly for those who might be in a similar situation and want to know how to proceed.

The singer admitted feeling scared, especially for her children, and even questioned whether it was worth going through this. However, she felt confident in the care of the doctor who performed the surgery.

Understanding Gastric Sleeve Surgery

Gastric sleeve surgery, or vertical sleeve gastrectomy, involves removing a portion of the stomach to create a narrow tube with the remaining part. This results in a smaller stomach that produces fewer hunger-regulating hormones, helping to control appetite.
