"Only God knows that I'm wealthy, and I'm not talking about money." With these heartfelt words, Roxi Lopez, a Cuban residing in the United States, begins a video showing her packing boxes to send to her family in Cuba. In a TikTok post, @roxanalopez7242 shared that, while some view Cuba as a financial burden, for her, it's a commitment filled with love and dedication.
"I understand there are those who see Cuba as an expense, but I don't. For me, it's something special, something I've always dreamed of: helping my family. Even if I can't give everyone equally, I always strive to send something, whether it's monthly, a little money, or a small package of coffee," she expressed.
Roxi revealed that these shipments are her way of staying connected with her loved ones despite the physical distance. "To some, it may seem insignificant or cheap, but to me, it's invaluable. God knows the love and care I put into it, and the daily effort I make to give them everything within my reach," she said.
Her words resonated deeply with her audience, particularly with other emigrants who understand the importance of supporting their families in Cuba. Many users in the video's comments quickly related to her sentiments. "I see myself in you, there's no greater satisfaction than being able to send something to our loved ones"; "I'm crying, I do the same as you. Each package involves so much sacrifice, but also love"; "Many don't understand, but supporting family in Cuba fills my heart."
Roxi's video not only touched viewers with its honesty but also highlighted a shared reality among many Cubans living abroad: the commitment and joy of being able to assist those enduring hardships on the island.
