The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has announced a significant 50% discount on certain hunting and fishing licenses, effective until January 3, 2025. This initiative is designed to encourage outdoor activities across the state. Among the licenses covered by this offer are the annual and five-year Gold Sportsman licenses, as well as the Youth Lifetime Sportsman licenses.

Furthermore, the annual combination license for freshwater and saltwater fishing is now available for just $5, as per the announcement released following an executive order recently signed by Governor Ron DeSantis.

Encouraging Outdoor Family Time and Conservation

“This initiative presents a wonderful opportunity for Florida families to enjoy quality time outdoors and connect with the state's incredible wildlife and ecosystems,” stated Roger Young, the executive director of the FWC. “We hope more residents will be inspired to explore hunting and fishing in Florida, which will in turn bolster support for conservation efforts statewide,” he emphasized.

How to Obtain Discounted Licenses

Discounted licenses can be acquired in several ways:

  • Online: Via GoOutdoorsFlorida.com.
  • Local Offices: At state tax collector’s offices.
  • Mobile App: By downloading the Fish/Hunt FL app, available for Apple and Android devices.

Additionally, one-year and five-year Gold Sportsman licenses are also available through authorized agents. To find an agent, simply visit GoOutdoorsFlorida.com, select “Purchase Recreational Licenses & Permits,” and click on “Locate an Agent.”

Through this promotion, the FWC aims to promote outdoor activities and foster a closer connection with nature while encouraging support for the state’s conservation programs, as highlighted in the announcement.
